Hundreds of postal workers in the Canaries have joined the national strike called by trade unions in protest at wages. The 3-day action, beginning early on Wednesday, will hit all aspects of post office work including collection, sorting and deliveries.  A union spokesman said that Correos had earned 177 million euros in profit last year but had failed to keep promises to improve conditions for thousands of staff who earn less than 1000 euros per month. The strike action is due to end at midnight on Friday.
