There is a 24 hour strike by employees of the Servicio Canario de Saludo starting at 8am on 23rd November throughout the Canary Islands health service.

A spokesman for Las Palmas SPM doctor’s union said in a press conference last week that the regional health department has not met the terms of agreements signed in February, and that all staff are overworked.

Unions say a further 500 doctors and 1,800 nurses are needed for the current situation to improve.
