Tenerife representatives from the Cabildo and the Council in San Miguel de Abona are having discussions to try to find a solution to the current traffic chaos in the Las Chafiras area.

Planners are working on a solution to alleviate the congestion, which is caused by around 30,000 vehicles travelling into the area every day, particularly Monday to Friday. With just one main entrance from the motorway, the bottleneck is becoming a matter of grave concern.

Several companies that are operating in the Las Chafiras area – one of the fastest-growing commercial districts in the south – are considering moving elsewhere if the problem continues.
