And now to a topic which causes most of us great concern. Our children and grandchildren make full use of the internet and M.S.N. chat rooms, and we all make sure that safety features are enabled. But here’s a warning to us all to be vigilant. The following is an actual transcript of a conversation between a child and an unknown “friend” in the UK:
After tossing her books on the sofa, she decided to grab a snack and get on-line. She logged on under her screen name ByAngel213. She checked her Buddy List and saw GoTo123 was on. She sent him an instant message: Read more

Strong winds blew at up to 100 kilometres per hour and waves up to eight metres high lashed the beach front of the Spanish Basque city of San Sebastian, smashing seaside walkways and bars, officials said.

Boats moored in the harbour of the town near the French border in northern Spain were overturned and cars swept down streets by waves.

Big Wave San Sebastian Northern SpainSan Sebastian’s famous Concha beachfront was badly hit by the storm, coming just a week before Easter holidays which usually bring high numbers of tourists.
Water inundated some streets, garages and basements, shattered windows, knocked over street lamps and containers and damaged parked cars. One woman was reported slightly injured after being swept away by a current.
The damage could take weeks to repair although it was too early to say how much it would cost.

Spain’s state meteorological service has issued a warning of strong winds and waves along the country’s Atlantic coast from Galicia to the Basque Country.

Santa cruz Carnival Queen winner
Shopping centre Carrefour’s candidate Nauzé Cruz Melo was chosen Carnival Queen at the end of last night’s 3-hour Gala in Santa Cruz.

Although not among the favourites in the run-up to the Gala, the winning design – an elaborate costume entitled The Golden Age – proved a big hit with the jury, which included screen stars Sofia Loren and Gerard Depardieu. The event, which was broadcast live on Antena 3 TV for the Canaries and South America, marked a return to the traditional Gala after last year’s controversial attempt to make it an entirely professional show.
