Famous people in LG

A local brit having lived in LG for over 25 years, told me that the footballer Stanley Matthews had a home in LG, and infact died while there.
Is this true, and where did he live.

I have met Moira Anderson the Scottish singer, I think she said she lived in San Fransisco, very
pleasant lady and husband.

This also is true pilgrim. However it was San Francisco in Puerto de Santiago and not California.

I always thought Rom Atkinson had the villa on Crab Island you can see below you as you look over the wall, on the walkway past Sunset to Puerto.

I've met all the above mentioned people, plus Alf Garnett, Mr Pastry & Edward Bear. in the Chicken Shack!!

And I have also met Frank Sinatra, infact he had his own restaurant above the plaza. Jonny Cash, saw him waiting for change at the machine in the men's loo in HPaddy. And the Abba girls, who could still fit in the outfits, but the squeeze made their voices sound that they came from Tyneside. Maybe get them let out a bit!

Just heard Boris Johnson is coming over for a break till 31st October. Think he needs it. He is very fair, hope he puts on at least factor 30. Think he would be most welcome in the village. Try to keep him away from
Highland Paddy, he can get a bit crazy.

We met Van Morrison in Highland Paddy's. A very surreal moment. Considering he's got the reputation of being a very grumpy man, he was relaxed enough to have a couple of pints with us and a bit of a friendly blether.

We also saw Huw Edwards the newsreader down at the harbour with his family.

Stuart McCall the Everton, Rangers and Scotland footballer was often seen cutting about LG as he had an apartment in El Marques Palace. He didn't mind having a pint with me even though I'm a massive Celtic fan!
