We have been to some of the other Canary Islands for a holiday/short visit. And are thinking of visiting La Palma from Tenerife over the autumn/winter. I understand there is a 30mins flight from the North, or a 3 hour ferry from Los Cristianos. Wondered if anyone on the forum has visited and how they found it there.

Yes, we took the car on the ferry. Unfortunately there had just been a horrendous storm and many places suffered damage with trees down and beaches decimated. However, well worth a visit and drive around. Some interesting rock formations and views. We went for six days. I recommend it.

We flew to La Palma from Manchester, (via London) picked up a car from the airport and drove to Tazacorte, spent two weeks there and toured the island, it is a great Island, far less commercialised than Tenerife, lots of German walking groups there, you will need your Spanish if dining out in the sticks, would definitely recommend going and having a look, you will enjoy it.
