We're arriving Saturday and was looking at the webcam and noticed the pool has changed. Is it now closed for refurb ?

I have been told from another reliable source that the lido has closed and will be refurbished not made into a car park as some are saying. Lets hope they are right.

They may make more money from a car park. But it would be a waste of the view.

If you own or long term rent an apartment in poblado marinero as we did, access to the lido is allowed for "free" as this is paid for in your monthly service/maintenance charge.  I'm sure if they turned the lido into something else, there would be uproar from the owners in poblado, or their service charge would have to be reduced accordingly.

During our visit in December we walked around the lido and it looked in a sorry state for such a lovely area and view

Once upgraded hopefully it will be back to its normal self

Just looked at the Lido from Oasis, and it is truly sad. And now looks like it has been abandoned for years!
These things in the weather deteriate fast when not looked after.
But thinking that maybe it is own and run by the council here. With it being a type of facility.
And also if it was under private ownership, wouldn't the owners have modernised it years ago.

It is a good size, could be so much more, even an evening venue!

There is still the pool next door with a good cafe. Friends of ours enjoyed it a couple of times when they stayed with us.

The lido has been closed for many months now.  Work men are currently digging part of it up to continue the new pipeline which runs right through Los Gigantes.  I would like to see it turned into a car park, as it is what this village so desperately needs (but I doubt it will happen).  There is still the Oasis and the beach for those that want to swim and sunbathe.

I have to agree with you there Dolly, we always thought that the Oasis was a far better place, it may be just us, but we always though that it stank near the Lido!

Also agree but when you have children and we stayed in the pablado marinero apartments it was free with a good view and the restaurant catered for children

You can see it live here: https://www.skylinewebcams.com/en/webcam/espana/canarias/santa-cruz-de-tenerife/los-gigantes.html but you need to wait until it is light to good view.
