Georgie, can you let us know when you will be arriving in LG, and how many days you will be staying.
I ask this, as we are looking to book flights tomorrow.

Whether you walk or not Alcala will be the same as when you went by bus or taxi. Surely you can remember from the last time.

The distance from LG to the piazza at Alcala will be about 3 1/2  miles. How long it takes is your choice. It's now a smooth concrete path 98% of the way. The last bit over rough ground and then back onto a proper walkway past the beach area. Take your bathers. Nice swimming there in the sea or the pools.

You should get out more. It's been finished for 3 years as it used to be rough track all the way. Surprised you have never walked it seeing you have been coming to LG for 20 years Georgie.

AWOL

Edit. I see you want from the beach. That will be about 2 3/4 miles then.

You asked the question and I took time out to give you, I thought, a response (the only one so far) which gave you a heads up on the walk. The least you could do is say thank you not go off at a tangent with some form of naff humour.

If you are so posh why are you asking for good value?

You just dig yourself into a hole. I have learnt quite a bit over the last few years (unlike yourself it would seem) I have been a swollow here and are quite happy and pleased to help if possible.

You from now on can go take a hike (to Alcala as per your original question but you will have to find your own way) as far as I am conerned. I dont need your cr#p.

I will save it for those that are far more in need.

AWOL,
I always find your posts to be very informative and interesting.
A few years ago we had an idiot, on this message board, called 'sebastian'. Eventually he/her disappeared.
'georgie' or 'gerogie' could be the same person.
Don't let him/her wind you up!
Keep posting.

For anyone who hasnít been to the area for a while,or even as a point of interest AWOLís post was very informative.
You may struggle when you approach Alcala Lynda, as itís not an easy way through, we saw an able bodied man last time who had slipped trying to havigate a bit of a climb down and he was covered in blood.
Probably 95% is an easy accessible and very enjoyable walk, but itís worth bearing in mind the last bit is a challenge.

Thanks for your supprt.

Linda,

Suggest you go to Alcala by bus and get off at the petrol station by the first round about. Walk down past the Gran Melia Hotel to the coast and walk right to the end past the beaches and cafe and when you get to the end by the rental cottages.that little section is the worst bit. If you can manage that small section you can do the whole bit. If that is not possible then you could cut through the banana plantation (halfway up the road past the hotel) and it joins the concrete path the other end but rough road.

I wondered about suggesting that way AWOL but wasnít sure if it was still ok to go through the banana plantation.  I know originally it was always the way we went but once the new walkway was opened obviously we had no need, and being a wuss decided I didnít want an irate chap shouting at me !!

I see georgies close relative has just joined the forum. Spelling and punctuation are similar too as well as askng the same dumb questions. Runs in the family then.

Just a hunch mind you.

Will they both be at the harbour club Thursday?

Coincidentally I am also due at the Harbour Club this coming Thursday evening between 6.00pm and 8.00pm for advanced harpoon practice under the guidance of Miss D.Diver - she confirmed she is not bringing a target this week, I wonder why ?
I wanted to be the Cincinnati Kid - but couldn't spell it

Your replies are very bullying and also worrying

Perhaps los gigantes is lovely but the people who go there are common and miserable

I may need to apologise to Pete but my gut feeling is they are one of the same. They both post using exactly the same grammer. Maybe they had the same teacher?

Iíve been coming to LG for around 20 yrs and joined this group to keep up with any goings on when Im back in the UK.
Itís certainly degenerated from a forum with useful info, to a bit of fun for Georgie who obviously gets a kick out of winding people up.
As for the other spammers, I donít know what they get out of it.
Would it be possible to get back to the real reason for this forum.
Perhaps if no one replied to Georgies posts then he would look elsewhere for his wind ups.
