Interesting outcome with insurance after being subjected to theft of wallet

Yesterday my husband had his wallet stolen whilst shopping in Iceland, Las Chafiras. Apart from all the hassle of cancelling cards, driving license, EHIC etc., we consulted our local insurance agent re making a claim on our home insurance here in Tenerife. We learn that as he wasn’t actually attacked, he is not covered! We are of course covered under our travel insurance policy, but quite surprised you have to be physically hurt to be eligible under home insurance!
