GETTING PRIVATE TRAVEL INSURANCE WHEN ALREADY ON HOLIDAY

advice please on where to get travel insurance as a UK citizen already in Spain on holiday? Most insurers will only insure if you are in the UK when you take out the policy but we are already here and need to extend our stay. Our present insurers will not extend our cover while my husband recovers from an accident. Thanks

That's a terrible thing to have happened to you and your hubby Angie. I'd be contacting the ombudsman when I get home if I were you. In the meantime I had a look at found this website. Might be worth a try. Hope you get on okay.

Fingers crossed you manage to get some  insurance.  Be aware some companies will not issue a policy if something has already happened. That could be why your present insurers will not permit you to extend.
Hope your  husband is soon  well enough to travel.

it’s highly likely that any new insurance policy wouldn’t cover treatment for your husbands injury as it would be regarded as a “ pre existing condition “.
