What is it that makes this Restaurant so fantastic!
Answers please?

Right size
Great atmosphere
Excellent service without being intrusive
Fantastic menu choice
First class cooking
Beautifully presented food
Good wine choice
Best banter by a mile
Reasonable prices

BUT PILGRIM - you were there the other night, so you should know!!!!

And no, I am not related, on commission, employed or in any other way going to gain from giving credit where it is due. It is just so wonderful to get such consistent quality and the type of service us oldies used to take for granted but these days is a rarity.

1) I for one agree with everything Angie says
2) Anyone, unlike Pilgrim, really interested in the answer should look on Trip Advisor
3) There are other nice restaurants in LG so make your own choice but do not take a table at Charlie's that someone else would like please.  It is full for a reason

Pilgrim, my answer to your question what makes this restaurant fantastic is as follows:
It offers an ever changing imaginative menu, good wine at sensible prices, attentive but never intrusive service and all at a price that delivers value for money.
Charlieís isnít competing with other restaurants it doesnít need to, it stands on its own merits, a fact backed up by the fact itís always full.
Put another way itís giving people what they want and that is down to a very hard working perceptive team, led by Jason and Bernard, who clearly saw a gap in the market and filled it.

Now that Jason is getting to know my wife and myself, I hope that we will one day have our own private table in this wonderful Restaurant. Angie do not worry, just book in advance, Jason will look after you.

Visited this restaurant a couple of years ago with some friends who live in Tenerife.  Food and atmosphere good.  However,  I personally prefer Ibericos which I think offers a more authentic atmosphere and food choice with a professional aire of dining.

Unhappy, I was once a sceptic like you. But having had that road to Damascus experience, or shall we say "Road to Los Gigantes - moment" I am now a true convert. We are off to Charlie's in the next few days, and cannot wait. We are starving ourselves in anticipation of Bernard's wonderful creations. And Jason's brilliant front of house wit and repartee. I hope you will see the light soon, and join us believers. May CB always be with you!

How sad is this. I have been sent this by someone on this subject as a private message.  Here is me thinking its a public website and we are all entitled to our honest and entitled opinions.

"Please do not give Pilgrim an excuse to bang on any further.  You came to the party late as it all started on another thread but Pilgrim would never admit to being wrong.  Charlie's is one of the best and everyone that spends time in LG like Jason and Bernard.  Ibericos I agree is excellent too and most would agree with you.  Did it this way in a vain attempt not to allow Pilgrim to preach any more - his wife must be a saint"

Magsnmike, thank you for your openness and exposing the under handness of some individual. They are trying to stop our opinions. Can you please Private Message me with the name of the person who does not want us to speak our minds.
I promise you Mags I will not compromise you.
Please continue to speak as you find.
God Bless

Hi Pilgrim.  I will not message you the name.  The person knows who they are and I hope that is the end of it.  I have reported it to the administrator.

That is a shame. But you must do what your conscious tells you.
Please continue to be honest in your opinions.
And if you are offered free meals at Charlie's as a way to influence you, please don't sign the acceptance card. The writing is very small and in Spanish, and contains a non disclosure agreement that will see you financially taken for hundreds of Euros.
I cannot say how I know this.
But I can say that Charlie's Bistro has to be the best Restaurant on Tenerife.

Another great meal at Charlie's Bistro. This is one place that does not disappoint, consistently brilliant!
How sad the other Restaurants cannot equal their standards - even in a basic way.
Bravo! Bravo!

Although I agree Charlie's is very good quality and at a reasonable price. If you visit the Bodeguita restaurant just a few meters along you will see as many residents eating there regularly more I think than Charlie's and I think this speaks a lot for the price and quality of this reataurant .The menus are different but they are both good value in different ways. Also I believe Sheila is an assistant in Charlie's now which can't be bad.

Pilgrim you are getting as bad as Georgie 10 posts on one restaurant, sounds like the commission is very good.
