  • Any update on the Royal Sun? We were there 3 weeks ago and a lot of work was going on. When is it going to reopen? Are they selling the  Apartments or is it going to open as a hotel?

  • The Royal Sun (or the property that was to be called "Los Gigantes Paradise" !! ) - is now up and running and open for business.

Believe it officially opened Fri 23 Nov 12.     Had a look see on that day when the doors were opened to Joe Public

Being split into three opportunities, time share, outright purchase and letting.  Visually from the outside it looks a lot better (at least the part of the complex that has been revived does -  the right hand side if looking at the development from the village) - the left hand side still needs a major overhall and facelift.

The builders etc are still very much on site and it is work in progress even whilst some first time holiday makers are in residence - the balcony frontages have had their solid facia brick removed and replaced with glass panels (similar to the new look hotel LG).

Inside its pretty much as it was before - same reception, same furniture and as yet no shop

Interestingly the only signs on the reception desk were in Russian

Shrubs plants and trees have been installed at the approach to the building as has a large turning area for cars and coaches the latter of which previously had to reverse back down Calle Geranios to exit the site

So all in all - it's good that the building has a new lease of life, so expect an influx of Russians - local bars may wish to stock up with copious litres of vodka    8)
I wanted to be the Cincinnati Kid - but couldn't spell it

  • Russians, who would have thought it only a few years back! There money I am sure will be most welcome. Wonder how long before the Estate agents have for sale in "Russian".
Guess they may have to get a courtesy bus. If your not a spring kitten or very fit, you would soon get hacked off with the walk up.
