Website revamp

  • I see the website has had an overhaul however it seems to be having a detrimental effect on perfomance. I'm using broadband and getting results in keeping with dial up. I've tried accessing the site from work (also broadband) with similar results. Is anyone else noticing a dip in performance?

  • My PC at work prevents me from updating/loading "flash" or "shockwave." Would this have something to do with the homepage not showing the menu &c. It does load on my home PC although as I said earlier very slowly. I've attached a screenshot for your attention.

  • Jambo you need to have flash installed for it to display correctly, the menu and a lot of the site is in flash

Here in our office (in Tenerife) the site is loading at the correct speed I have tested it on all our 4 internet connections thatquote s 3 with telefonica and 1 on orange and it all seems to be fine now.

amibovvered are you using broadband or a dailup connection??  :-\\

  • Well, Iquote ve had no problems at all. The site loads as it did before and my broadband monitor shows no problems.

The simplest solution to slow speeds usually  is to delete your  temporary internet files which can build up considerably over time.

  • linda That is an issue with the flash on the website, not all mobile phones support flash,I'm not sure if there is a way round that but I'll look into it a bit more and let you know if I find a solution.

  • Seems ok now from my laptop. Bit of a busman's holiday as I test software for a living. As I said earlier I can't update Flash due to security restraints on my office PC so navigating to the message board is difficult. For anyone in a similar position use the following link http://losgigantes.com/board/index.php

  • It's nice looking at snow on Teide in the distance when I am having lunch on the terrace with the sun shining.  That's as near as I want to get to it these days.  But I do remember having fun in the early days here when my children were young.  We would drive up to the snow with big plastic bags, surf boards, anything to use as a sledge - huge fun, then build a big snow man on the back of the pick up and bring it back to Los Gigantes.  Those were the days - suppose I'll have do it all again soon when my grandson is a bit older.

We are getting some nice feed back on the revamped web site - thank you.  Still lots of work to do on it yet.

Come on everyone get designing that new logo for us, we've not had many entries yet.
