  • Hi All,

Back to Tenerife for the 1st time in 15 months due to work commitments  - it's been a while since we've been late October/November - What's the weather like at the moment? - any Halloween plans as i've got 2 kids (4 and 9) ... looking forward to breakfast at Scooby's , The Salzburg, that nice German/Austrian place down near Puerto Santiago at the bottom overlooking the sea, Maybe a night at Route 66 and think we might go to Loro Parque if the weather is dull ish.....kids want to swim , so bought a couple of short wetsuits ... maybe a boat trip - here for 8 days so any recommendations for Eating out/Trips etc would be helpful

    Can't wait!!!!!!.....

  • Joseph has retired from the Salzburg and it is now under new name and ownership. Try Casa Pepe near the Dragos Hotel in Puerto Santiago, excellent value and food. Go to El Timon for welcoming staff who have special toy area there for children and also offer a stunning view from their terrace out to sea and watch the dolphins.

  • thanks Angie and "El Presidente".....

every time we come in Oct/Nov it's always a bit changeable....

I thought one of the waiters had bought the Salzburg from Joseph (the tall Belgian chap)...? ...will definitely try Casa Pepe and El Timon- it sounds like the place I mentioned with the views...?.lunch at Domingos is always nice - great views into the mountains and the kids love the waitress there...and the toasties....as long as the supermarkets has Cambozola cheese then i'm nice and chilled...

  • Salzburg now called Incognito (couldn't remember when I first replied to your post !). Don't remember who has taken it over, you may well be right. You could always pay for a day at the Costas Los Gigantes Hotel up above Puerto Santiago, with big pools with water slide and lots of amenities for children, large kid's adventure area and playground, soft ball play, crazy golf etc., seems very popular with families and very kid friendly. Have a good holiday

  • juan carlos (of el rincon de juan carlos) has luis bar now and is responsible for the tapas and the fab wine by the glass - makes a change from vina sol (or something masking as vina sol - not luis's of course)  we go quite often - excellent and reasonable.

crazy golf at tipsy terrace good for the children.  sunday morning 'mix in' tennis group a nice social.
oasis. boat trips especially the yellow ribs if you dont want a booze cruise.
