Can someone recommend a good book on walking complete with really accurate routes that are easy to follow ?  Particularly interested in circular walks.  Also anyone know of any walking groups in the area, not those with a paid guide, where like-minded folk can get together for a ramble occasionally ?

Picked up a free walking guide in the Tourist Office, but it loses something in the translation into English, and indeed it lost us up in the mountains !!

Try Discovery Walking Guides Ltd, www.instant-books.org, www.walking.demon.co.uk and www.dwgwalking.co.uk (all the same company).  DWG is based in Northampton.  They do one book for Tenerife, "Walk! Tenerife", an excellent hiking map and a Tenerife Bus, Tram & Touring map.
