Transporting Dogs

  • Hi
We were thinking of wintering in Los Gigs on a regular basis , perhaps Jan to April every year but the problem is we have 2 dogs that we would want to bring along , Can anyone tell me the cheapest way to bring the dogs over and an idea of price , would love to do it but if the price is to prohibitive we may have to settle for mainland Spain .

    Thanks in advance .

  • Contact Ladyhaye - www.petravelagent.com - email info@ladyhaye.co.uk or TFA Logistics -www.tfalogistics.com - email info@tfalogistics.com for prices.  However I can guarantee it will not be cheap!  You must ensure that your dogs have had rabies vaccinations followed by the all important  blood test a month later to ensure that rabies antibodies are present. No dogs are allowed to enter the UK until six months have elapsed from the date on which the blood sample was taken.  This also applies to dogs leaving the UK and returning at a later date.  Once you have a successful blood test result this test does not have to be done again, provided you keep up to date with the annual rabies vaccinations.  If you decide to bring your dogs to Tenerife you must also ensure that they have a heartworm preventative. Your vet should be able to give you all the relevant information.

What makes you believe i would be Adding to it ?

By "it" i presume you mean the uncleared up type which i detest .

Some dog owners are responsible although i agree plenty aren't .

Thank you for contributing to the thread .
