  • I am due to come back to Gigantes in about two weeks and have noticed on the 10 day weather forecasts that for some time it has shown thunderstorms nearly every day.and continues to do so for the next 9-10 days. Please can someone tell me if Gigantes HAS had this bad weather that was forecast. Getting a bit worried as usually when we visit in late November we have had super weather

  • Sunny and hot but windy today. Sp'e0nish Met Office have issued a strorm warning for Tenerife and La Palma from midnight tonight (monday 30/10).

To be honest it never seems to last that long when there is a rainstorm, quite often its overnight and you just wake up to damp pavements

  • Sorry Lavender Lady, have had a very bad storm today, several bars and restaurants had some flooding and a minor rockfall on beach road. Hopefully the worst will be over when you come, but better bring an umbrella just in case!

  • Hello there, I just got back from LG this morning after a very variable week. The thunderstorms were pretty bad for about  4 hours? I was trapped in a friends apartment, fortunately well stocked with beer! The water running down cardiac hill was something to see, Thats where some pretty big boulders landed in the road. The last couple of days were fine though, back to normal.

  • I dont know if this will work, but here is the miserable view I had from an El Marques balcony...

(You may have to cut and paste it into your browser) Note the absence of the Barcelo - it completely vanished into the rain/mist.

  • Thanks Royl. Managed to find it. Looks dreadful. We have fortunately only had weather like that a couple of times in Gigantes and the first time it rained so much it came under the door of the apartment and we  lost all our electrics. Didnt come back on for hours :'(

  •       Whats all this negative talk of thunderstorms? My family and i have just returned from LG and thought the storm was fantastic. It has been a long, long time since I have seen anything like it, or heard anything like it! We hardly ever see rain there(thankfully). We just sat at a bar and enjoyed it. ;D

  • Someone has just posted this on Youtube, gives a much better idea of how bad it was than my scrappy little effort.
Must get a better camera, although I hope never to see weather in Tenerife like this again!
