  • Things we are looking forward to doing when we arrive on the 17th:-

    1. Having our first breakfast in Pilgrims with the warm sun on our backs looking out to sea without listening to gloom and doom.

    2. Ignore the exchange rate and have a jolly good holiday as we've waited all year for this (ignore exchange rate!)

    3. Sink teeth into a prime fillet steak at El Pozo's.

    4. Sup several red Murphy's at the bamboo bar followed by an Indian at Krishna's.

5.Watch sun go down and fireworks go up on New Years Eve from our balcony at El Marquess Palace.

    6. Watch Birmingham City spank Reading on the 20th in Charlie's Bar followed by a pizza from Fettucini's. (feel free to come and join us)

    7. Having a quiet night in with a DVD and a delivery from the Golden Chopsticks.... how boring  ;D

    7. And 101 other Fab things .....

Am really looking forward to coming out to LG/PS for three weeks, everyone is fed up back here (understandably so) and we need to get away from the cold weather and dark nights.

P.S I've been reading the posts on the message board all year with great interest and finally have now decided to take the plunge with this debut message.

That's all folks....... see you soon.

  • Hi Smiffy, and welcome to the forum.  You have a good old time and report back.  Keep your eye on the ?What?s on locally? page, direct link is http://www.losgigantes.com/evenings.htm

I am busy working on the Xmas and New year programme. I?m just waiting for confirmation of a few events.  There?s a lot going on here in the Los Gigantes ? Playa Arena area so we all need to put aside those recession blues and have a real good time.

  • Thanks Dolly,

we have been coming out for Xmas the last three years and now treat this break as our main holiday since we fell in love with the resort in 2004. Looking forward to seeing your posts about 'What's on' and being entertained by the good folk of LG.

I think June who posted earlier must be a member of the Labour party with her negative comments though I think some of it was said 'tongue in cheek'.

Really Really looking forward to coming over and enjoying our 3 weeks, there are some lovely bars and restaurants and the whole ambiance about the place suits us. Selfishly, i am glad its not over crowded (though local business's would disagree) cause there are no commercial chains out there and that helps keep its personality and identity. For us it has the best of both worlds, lively nights in LG or mixing with the locals in PS; both equally attractive. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder and we LOVE it.

One final thing, this is the first year we will still be there for the three Kings festival, do you have any suggestions where the best place to be is?

    Thanks.

  • 4 weeks in two weeks. Yippee.

14 days and counting!  Totally agree with Smiffy's comments on the resort.  Its will be our 6th time and we can't wait.  We also will be there for 3 Kings night first time and also look forward to anyone's suggestions about the best place(s) to be.

  • 5 weeks today we will be there, indeed yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!   We have to come out later this year due to work, but Xmas at home and New Year in LG cannot be bad.

Agree with all the positive comments. We have been coming out for about 16 years off and on and absolutely love the place.   Have been abroad in other countries for New Year and we always reflect back to LG and how good it is there.

For the Three Kings we suggest that you try to get a spot either in Green Corner or HP3 terrace then you can see the Kings arrive. A brilliant night, one of the nicest celebrations we have witnessed.

  • We have been here for the last few years at Kings Day and found that if you can get a table in the square down in Los Gigantes you get to see everything.  It is wonderful to see the little ones faces as the Kings arrive on the Camels  followed by the parade. They then get their pressies frm the Kings on the stage outside the Church. Have a fab time. :)

  • Thanks Susuggs and Magsnmike.  Will try to get a vantage point in the areas you have mentioned although I imagine it gets pretty busy.  Might have to get there extra early and pass the time with a few Vodka and Tonics!  Tough work but has to be done! Thanks again for the info.

  • Thanks for all the advice and positive feedback. Look forward to the Kings Day celebration (but not looking forward to going home the day after) I will keep looking on the events page to see what time it starts and like Diddy may get there early for a few shandy's!  ;)

  • There are a lot of choices.  The majority of bars and restaurants have parties.  Most people end up in the Plaza, Los Gigantes as there is one big party. Keep your eye on the "Whats on locally" page http://www.losgigantes.com/evenings.htm

I am working on the Xmas and New year page now - just waiting for confirmation of 2 more events.
