Temperature in Los Gigantes

  • Hi All!

Just about to start my packing ready to come out in 13 days time!

Can anyone tell me please what sort of local temperatures you've been having lately, both day and night. I have been looking at the weather forecasts for Tenerife, but I do know that Los Gigantes temperatures are a little higher than the rest of the Island?

Freezing here, so just need a bit of sunshine to look forward too.

  • You can get to the weather information from the home page.  See button News and Weather.

This is still the old style page.  DaRKeTaMiN is currently working on the new page and a better source of information.

For a quick view to see for yourself what the weather is, you can click directly on to web cam, again from the buttons on home page.  Today is hot and not a cloud in the sky - lets hope it stays this way over Xmas and New Year.

  • Just back from LG this morning, temps were lovely. You do feel the difference in the shade though, and night-time its down to around 18-20C, even I needed a fleece if we were outdoors.

There were some exceptional afternoons while we were there .. pic is from our terrace, and it was 30C in the shade (109 is around 42C but that was direct sunlight).  But a more reasonable temp was around 26C.

  • Oops - spoke too soon yesterday.  Needed jumper and wellies to get to work this morning.  Check out web cam.  You can't even see the cliffs this morning!

The Canarian govenment have issued a severe weather warning.  High winds and heavy rain - do not use the roads unless you have to - flooding is expected.

  • Sorry ... all my fault!!

At least Fonsalia managed to have good weather for their fiesta this year, they're normally the ones rained on heavily!

  • Hope the weather has brightened up for everyone.

It has to be better than here. Its freezing. The gritters have just been down my road, so another grim day tomorrow getting to work. Bbbbbrrrrrrr.

Only one week to go now. Had a look on a 10 day forecast and 70 degrees sounds very nice.

    Feliz Navidad.

  • Three weeks and counting. Is it my imagination or has the weather in January been worse over the last three years? I started out coming here (in January initially) 10 years ago and I remember having the fan on at night first time although my final night admittedly was interesting because of a rainstorm which flooded the place and put the power out!. I now know where the candles are kept :) Hopefully the last two weeks of January will be terrific next year and if not I'll have to wait till June and September!

  • Jambo,
You are right in what you say I think that the Summer's are hotter and the Winter's are colder than they used to be back in the good old days
