  • LoL what can I say we have had a few problems with our web server based in the United States they seem to be unable to keep it on-line 24/7.

Yesterday the web server was down

This morning the emails where down

And earlier this afternoon the database that runs the message board was down.

We are not impressed at all we spent most of the day sending complaint emails.  >:(

  • As a new boy at the LG message board I have also found it difficult to access at times.
My humble offerings may help some who have had the same problems.

I use AOL Broadband in the UK and Telefonica (Expsensica!) ADSL in Tenerife.

I found that AOL?s browser needs to be absolutely clean (i.e. no previous history of failed attempts at accessing the LG website.)  I therefore suggest at the minimum the history file is cleared, and a reboot.  The reason seems to be that to speed things up AOL remembers any previous log into a site, and if that was not completely successful then any future ones will fail.

Telefonica uses the IE browser and it generally seems to work better (Perhaps that?s why we all have to take a mortgage out to use it each month). However, if that goes wrong then I find that it really needs a restore of the registry to completely clear any problems.

I must emphasise that I know how to backup and restore my registry and warn those who do not to only do this with professional help.

I found the LG webcam didn?t load even after installing Activex. However I tried again and rebooted immediately after installing Activex and it now works every time on both the browsers I use.

I am not an expert but I work on the basis that if we all share these types of problems it will help give us confidence to get it right in the end. The more information we give on problems the better the LG administrators can assess the every changing situation in this growing media.

Lastly, to the said administrators: thanks for a great re-vamp of the site. It has prompted me to join rather than just visit. If you are having problems with the Americans hosting it there are many more in the UK who not only speak English but also understand it!
