Sunrise and Sunset

  • Some time ago, Pablo asked  what I thought was a silly question about whether the Sun set  over Los Gigantes at different places on the horizon depending on the time of year.  My apologies to Pablo because it was a very good question.

There have  been  many comments over the years about  beautiful sunset views from restaurants and you may want to time your meal to catch the sunset.  Anyway, I came across this app which shows the position of the rising and setting Sun and its position at any time of the day.

I have set the co-ordinates for Los Gigantes but  you can set it for anywhere in the world you want to holiday  by typing in the name of a country town or village etc.  Just move the slider at the top to the left or right for the position of the Sun at any time of the day and the sunrise and sunset time. If you want to change your location  then just drag the central  pink tear drop emblem.  When you change the  the date it will show the appropriate sunrise and sunset times. Try zooming in and out with the vertical slider on the left. I  have  even worked out the  location of  our favourite bench by  Mercadona where Mrs Falstaff and I   watch the setting sun  while swigging wine from the bottle and eating our pork pies.

Now I know who you are!  I promise to drop a few cents in your hat next time I pass.
