Hello Everyone.

Just to let you know that Bar Restaurante La Amazona, which is above the supermarket TRANSITO, in San Francisco, will be holding Spanish lessons every sunday afternoon from 2pm til 4.30pm.

The first date is Sunday 5th October and then every sunday throughout the winter.

Glenn the owner is English but speaks very good spanish and his wife is Canarian, so she will be available to practice your newly adquired spanish skills.

This is a beginners course to allow you to hold effective conversations and become more conversant.

If you would like to attend, please feel free, you can reserve your place by calling the bar after 5pm everday, except wednesdays on 922867231.

hasta pronto

Raymond

I think this is a great idea.  I've made a note in the diary. My Spanish could certainly do with improving.

Wow I would love to attend these lessons. I am unfortunately not coming over until 22nd November and will be there for 3 months. Is that too late to join in?? I hope not as I am eager to learn Spanish in an informal setting and with a glass of vino in hand it would make it all the more enjoyable. :)

raymond

Hello Suesuggs,

Glenn has told me that you are welcome to attend in November when you arrive, he will keep all the weekly sheets of notes from the beginning so that you will be able to revise and hopefully catch up quickly.

He says he looks forward to seeing you in November

amunette

LOL, nice effort Grockle and Ammibovvered, bit more practice though ;)

yet another question, we'd love to learn in preparation for when spend the winters there when we retire but this year we'll only be there for the first 2 weeks, could we start and take some "homework" home to continue practicing together at home?

No problem cs.

You can buy booze at Transito just below the Amazona and you can get sex toys at the "party shop" in Las Chafiras  ::) ::)

Amibovvered stop it, I nearly choked on my vino LOL

Maybe Dolly can set up a forum for us Brits to practice our Spanish?!! Mine is cr*p considering I live with a non-English speaking Canarian :o

Just wanted to say how well the first session went on Sunday.

We started off on White Wine Spritzers then moved onto Bacardi, Magno or Gin later, at the end we were totally effluent!!

Seriously, Glenn is a natural teacher and most, if not all, will have learned a great deal more than they knew when they walked in.

Hasta la proxima clase :) :)

suesuggs

Looking forward to seeing everyone in November and will do my best to catch up :)

Well done Glen, your Spanish conversational classes are very enjoyable, although I feel a bit brain dead at the moment after this afternoon?s lesson, but  I do feel I have learnt a lot already and I do look forward to the rest of the course.

Several forum members are attending the classes, and one or two, like myself,  already understand a lot and know many words, but are not good at linking it all together, especially when our working day is with English people and we don?t get the chance to practice.

I?ve tried classes before, usually taking time off work and rushing everything or attending in the evenings when I?m too tired.  This relaxing way to learn on a Sunday afternoon is great for me and many of the others  say the same.

Gracias

raymond
