  • Seems there has been hailstones in Costa del Silencio and floods in Playa Arena.   :o :o

Not nice, hope it gets better sooner rather than later.

  • Another one from Michael Fish aka Canarias24

Yes, the storms are on the way out now and things will be calming down. Perhaps the odd shower and winds but nothing too bad.

    GOOD NEWS
Friday and early Saturday will be nice and sunny/cloud.

    BAD NEWS
More storms late Saturday into Sunday and Monday. Now early days but this one looks bad as well. As I said we are stuck in a rut of Westerlies and all storms are heading alot further south than normal, so across The Canaries.

Pic; All the cloud to the West is heading this way

  • The Canary Islands have been warned to expect very strong winds for much of today and tomorrow. Wind speeds in excess of 100 kmh have been predicted by the Met Office for hilly parts of Gran Canaria, Tenerife and La Palma as of around noon.

In Tenerife, the worst of the gales are expected in the Vilaflor and La Orotava areas and people have been urged to take extra care when outdoors today.

The alert is the fourth severe weather warning to be issued for the Canaries in the last few weeks.
