Sad state of affairs here

  • Very sad  to see how little people post in here now. Have only just got computer and was really looking forward to joining in but its dead!! But if you look at amount posts  are viewed you see people are visiting but cannnot be bothered to join in. :'(

Even todays new posts have had 50+ views, but  only 1 or 2 replies. Why? I know posts can get "samey" when you are a regular, but surely love of your community. ie: Los Gigs, should prompt a polite hello or acknowledgement?

No wonder the village has gone to pot if people cannot be bothered even online. Very sad.

  • I rest my case. 56 views, not one comment. No wonder people don't bother.

  • As moderator I find the board has its busy times and its quiet times.  It can go a day or so with very little happening then someone will put a spanner in the works and wind up a few users. I do get a lot of laughs.

When the village livens up then so does the board.  Easter is just round the corner so the board will be busy with comments and questions again.  Keep watching.

  • Hi amunette,

Up now to 136 views and 1 comment from our illustrious moderator. You are right that there are not a lot of comments coming in at the moment.
As Dolly says it will soon be Easter ! Enjoy your sunshine.

What have you got against little people ?

I never knew that postings were restricted to little people ! - that must explain a lot, perhaps all subscribers to the LG Forums are all over 6' tall !!   ;D
I wanted to be the Cincinnati Kid - but couldn't spell it

  • Ok seeing as I "lurk" each lunch break at work maybe I should post. Trouble is I don't live in Los Gigs so I don't have much to contribute. I can tell you its 5 degrees here in Edinburgh and overcast. I can also tell you that there are currently 3 people in El Marques Palace's swimming pool. There's also someone using the public phone in Calle Las Rosas. Exciting stuff :)

  • There does seem to be a lack of activity in these forums.
That prompts me to ask a question directed at the administrators/moderators..what subjects are considered suitable for discussion on the LG website ?
The membership is made up of residents and visitors, the vast majority of British origin. Are British politics and current affairs off-limits ?..I am sure there are many residents of Los Gigantes with strong opinions on all sorts of issues. What about sport, films, tv..anything really. I realise that discussion of that nature is not the true function of this website, but a busy message board helps promote LG and shows the vitality of the resort.
    Any comments ?

  • There are no restrictions for topic subjects (within reason)!

The ?General chat? board is for strings not relating to Los Gigantes or the surrounding area.  If you start up a string that is of no interest to anyone it will soon drop off the top page.

  • Thankyou Dolly.
In that case there may not be much interest in subjects not pertaining to LG or Tenerife..I have rarely seen any discussion concerning other such issues.
I may give it a shot anyway ( within reasonable boundaries ) just to see if I can rouse some of the the more opinionated members..like myself.  :D
