  • We witnessed an incident  many years ago at  the market in Las Americas  when a gang of pick pockets were arrested. A few hours later when we queued at the bus stop to return to Los Gigantes we were surprised to see the same  gang working the bus queue. They had been arrested and immediately released.

I  would think that this latest gang of fellow European citizens are now back on their streets exercising their human rights to steal from law abiding citizens because they cannot be deported.

  • The other problem with these gangs that must operate all over Europe. That they are not always that gentle when they make the steal.
They rely on passing the item stolen to another gang member almost as fast as the steal. This avoids being found in possession on being challenged.

You will then be made out to be the liar. Having lost the item and now using them as an excuse etc.

Stealing is also inbred and telling untruths as normal as the truth. So it matters not when they are released. This does not make it right of course.
But it should put you on your guard wherever you are.

  • Do you think maybe this gang has anything to do with robberies that happened in the Mercadona a few months back? Remembered reading something on the board not so long ago??

So glad they have been caught but as you say they will just get released.

Coming over in July will have to keep an eye out....

    Regards

  • We all need to be aware of these gangs and not just in LG. I was a near victim some two years ago here in the UK, but I felt the woman's hand as she tried to take my purse from my handbag. I was in a shop at the time and called out loudly that she had tried to steal my purse, and of course everyone looked around then at least four more people in the gang left the shop very quickly. I asked a shop assistant to call the police and lock the doors on this woman who was by now holding up her hands and pretending she didn't know what I was talking about, but I was told she couldn't do that as it was false imprisonment!!!!!
These gangs make a very good living, so be aware whenever you are in a crowd or feel as if you are being jostled and don't be afraid to make a fuss and draw attention to them.
