prepaid currency cards....

  • has anyone ever used one of these?  if so, how did you find using it and are they acceptable around the los gigantes area?

  • I have a Thomas Cook pre paid card (mastercard) and I have used it widely while in LG, I think they are accepted anywhere they take mastercard or whoever your card provider is .Good thing is , when you come home you haven't got huge credit card bills because you have already deposited money on the card. Just make sure it is a euro card as you can get other currency cards.

  • We bought two of these for our trip to the States and Canada and loaded them. We had to cut our holiday short and when we came to reclaim the money it cost us a lot in 'fees'.

  • We use the Caxton one (Euros only) both in LG last Christmas and in France travelling in our Motorhome. Widely accepted and no charge for cash withdrawals. Very popular with Motorhome owners.
