  • OK all you pet lovers out there. I've just acquired a kitten so now along with my little dog I have two pets. Trouble is now with their food. The dog eats the cat biscuits and the kitten eats the dog biscuits. My question is " is this in any way harmful to the two of them?" Any advice would be appreciated. Ta

  • Hi Bernie,  Although I cannot actually confirm  any downside to your question,. I can tell you that we have 3 dogs and 4 cats, who regularly & have done for a long time the same thing.  They are all healthy and get on great together.  The cats don't bark & the dogs don't meow so , My opinion is that its not a great problem.  Obviously try not to let them but I can't see you will have any health issues.  Hope this helps you.   JB

  • hi, try putting the cat's food up high, hopefully the dogs can't rock climb and all should be well ::)

  • Well I did put the cat food up high and yes that solved my problem of the dog eating the kitten's biscuits but unfortunately the kitten still likes to have a go at the dog's biscuits. Still I've had a word with the vet and there isn't a problem with the kitten eating other foods it's the dog that's the most concern as there is too much protein in the kitten food and after a long period of time it could affect his kidneys. So it looks like my worries are over. Thanks for everyones help. Any ideas on how to get the kitten to stop using my legs as scratch poles!!!!!
