    let the music play on.

  • Live music has to stop at midnight and doors have to be closed according to local council bye laws, not necessarily at the wishes of local bar owners or inhabitants!!!

But even so there are some late night venues -  the strip along Playa Arena for example and Puerto Santiago Bajo (La Hondura)

This is a constant bone of contention with noise abatement types (of all nationalities) versus party goers -  lobby your local officials say I!!!!

  • why do i have to jump in a taxi and travel to other places
and back .surely it should be down to bar owners to keep
    their own tills ringing.
they are the ones losing trade as the decline in vistors since
2001 i would of thought they would do anything to get punters back
when you ask how business is they always say quite.

  • I agree not wanting a all night clubbing venue
but being forced to sit inside with all the window and doors
closed in the middle of summer by the people who run the block of
council flats    SORRY the hotel los gigs is not on
a little gentle music and chat is not to much to ask for
I not asking for discos or heavy metal rock concerts.

  • no, we dont want nightclubs galore, but, maybe just one place (reputable) which will keep the younger generation wanting to come back to los gigantes.... i mean, they are the future..!  somewhere a certain age group could mix, and i dont mean a youth club, somewhere that the university aged kids could go, or maybe there is somewhere?....

  • I may be old  but when on holiday, I still like to okie cokie into the early hours and make the most of every single minute.

I agree with maps and Janey. I appreciate the point about live music having to stop at midnight but surely there are many unexploited  business opportunities for entrepreneurs to provide late night entertainment  for Los Gigantesquote  discerning visitors and residents, such as late night shopping.

We had a week in Amsterdam a few years ago, and the city is obsessed with late night shopping. Did you know that the ever enterprising Dutch shopkeepers light up their shop windows into the early hours to display and sell ladies lingerie (ladies lingerie appears to be a major industry in Amsterdam). The place was buzzing with activity into the early hours.

  • Linda, I was not tempted to venture further. As a fan of Father Ted, heaven forbid that I should be seen in a ladies lingerie store.

I went off to explore the Van Gogh Gallery while Mrs Falstaff  participated in the late night lingerie sales.  The sales must have been absolute bedlam because she was absolutely exhausted when we met up later at the gallery.

  • The only 2 late bars in Los Gigs that the Judge knows of is The Bamboo and H P 3. I know for a fact that you can sit on the terrace (Outside) at H P 3 till around 2.30pm, thus not being forced to go inside !!!  ;D

  • In Puerto de Santiago is a new bar open after midnight. They are in the same building as Optica Lucia and the pizzeria Don Carmelo in the top. The music isn't too high and tha service friendly. Try it.

But why do all the shop keepers use red lights in their windows.  ;)

  • Hi My husband and I have been visting Los Gigs for the last 7yrs, We are both in our 20's and always stay at the Los gigs Hotel. We stay there for a relax and to de - stress from the working life at home. We have booked for May this year! Keep Los gigs as it is and grab a taxi to the more lively resorts I say!  :)

I don't know the name of that but it is near the Spanish corner, after all the restaurants in front of place of fiestas.
