Only 2 Banks Left?

  • With the Caja Rural de Canaries Bank now closed on the main Puerto de Santiago road.

The BBVA Bank remains open close by.

Santander Bank is in LG Village itself.

The Caja Rural converted a GBP Account Balance into a current EURO Bank Exchange Rate
and did not charge commission, or display confusing rate information.

It is a loss to the area.

  • The Automated Teller Machine from the Caja Rural de Canaries Bank is now at the new Branch in Alcala.

For the Two Banks that are left in this area - both charge commission of about 2.5 percent.

When asked what currency you want the commission in - always select Euro.

The outcome of the percentage and exchange rate is lower.

  • Can I just get this straight.  In the area from Alcala through to Los Gigantes there are only TWO banks.  The BBVA and Santander.  What do holiday-makers do should they want cash - are there plenty of ATMs or are they forced into using the exchange/excursion shops and if the latter where are these located?

  • There are branches of Caja Canarias in Los Gigantes and Playa Arena. We must have more than just two left? Plenty of ATMs about for all.

  • There are 2 banks in Los Gigantes.  Santander and Caja Canarias

In Playa Arena there is Caja Canarias, La Caixa (Banco Pastor closed and merged with the Los cristianos branch)

The Puerto Santiago still open is  BBVA, but Caja Rural has moved to Alcala.

In Alcala there is Santander, Caja Canarias, Caja Siete and Caja Rural
