  • As its a National Holiday Mercadonna wont be open I'm fairly certain but next time I'm there I'll ask for you or maybe someone else could do that please because I'll notbe there for a couple of weeks and usually Transito open on such days until about 1 I think but I can stand corrected and it needs again someone to go in and ask!!!!  Best bring  some bacon butties for the morning and eat out when you get here my friend!!!  Correct me if I am wrong please?  I don't like many usually surface on New Years Day!!!!

  • Your best bet would be to arrange for someone to put a food parcel in your apartment.  Most apartment owners or cleaning services will do this.

  • When we have been there at New Year the supermarket opposite Barcelo Santiago opens and Netto over in Playa Arena opens. Not sure if it will be the same this year.

Also I love New years day on the beach. Fantastic!!

  • Hi
I thought either Harrods or the one near the beach opens on New Years day, I hope so as we are coming out then but not until approx 8pm if the flights are on time.
Hopefully some of the restaurants will be open and if not we won't starve until the morning.
I suppose if we bring in some G & T's duty free, the food won't matter!!!!
