  • Just been told about the new plans for transport in los gigantes .As from 1st of august 2008 if you do not live or work in los gigantes you will be directed to the new car park in santiago then if you want to go into los gigantes you can walk or hire a golf type buggy to access the village which will mean easy parking for locals & buisnesses (peak times only)

  • I have just checked the calendar and it isn't April the first!

Whatever next? You will be telling us that they are going to pedestrianise the Marina.

  • You are right LaCochinillo.

I have read this story on a Spanish website. Apparently (my Spanish is poor) the local council have asked the Island Government for permission to introduce the new scheme and permission has been granted. Notices have been published so it looks like itquote s going ahead.

  • I like the look of those little buggies. Will it operate 24 hours a day so if you go into Los Gigs for a nite out you can still get back to your apartments further afield.

Only 14 weeks to go before we are back in lovely LG.

Hope the road has been fixed and the sun is shining.

  • Well it certainly looks like Elton John will shortly perform  in Tenerife in November.

Elton who is holidaying in Los Gigantes spent time today driving around the village promoting the local Councilquote s crackpot  Golf Buggy scheme aimed at driving away more tourist.

Brilliant, but I'm amazed Elton's seat isn't facing backwards, but then perhaps he likes being hit in the rear ;D
