  • I have been looking at the official Santiago del Teide website and came across this story:

    http://www.santiagodelteide.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=573

which I have translated into English with the aid of a dictionary and is therefore not too good.

I make out that there is underway work to make a new road from Los Gigantes to Masca bay which I fiund incredible. Perhaps somenone may care to enlighten me as I have heard nothing anywhere else.

  • Well they say even at my age that you learn something new every day and today I have had a double dose of knowledge.

Thanks.  I thought it more than odd.

  • Well poolepirate I must confess I was taken in by that story too.

I have also accessed the Council's offical website (the.org site) on a few occasions and been very disappointed that it has been under development for so long without any progress, that there is no English language option and that the site does not translate  into English through Google Language Tools.

The Council clearly needs help in this area, particularly as it is stressing to British  residents its desire to involve them in  local politics, not to mention the importance of British holiday makers to the local economy. Why on earth canquote t they have an English language option on their website?
