Mugging in LG

  • I've just heard someone was mugged on Calle Flamboyant last night.  Two men, one white one black approached single man returning from Highland Paddy I think and attacked and robbed him - about 1 am.
Not what you like to hear in Los Gigantes.

  • Hope the victim is ok and they are able to get the scumbags that carried out the crime.

  • As far as I know he is OK but was knocked unconscious.  He left Highland Paddy at 1 am and was walking back to his lodgings in Colonial Park I think - he remembers being attacked but didn't get 'home' until 3 am and can't remember what happened in the interim.  Not nice to think of people like that in the area ....  Suggest everyone is very careful at night, particularly if alone.

  • Doesn't matter where you are in the world, if there is an opportunity and one is that way inclined then they will go for it, I think people let their guard down too much on holiday and don't take so much care when away as they would at home. I am never on my own at night so safety in numbers is also the key. Get Vanessa Viagra down there, she'll sort them out lol, hope the man is okay, was he on holiday or a resident? x

  • The man was on his own and was a holiday maker, only there for a week.  I thought it was particularly worrying as it occurred on a fairly well used thorough fare in the village.  I've heard of muggings before in the park area leading to Crab Island but never so close to the village centre.  As you say, just shows you need to be alert and not good to be alone!
