  • All the averters are missing from the page when I read the board. Is this a problem with the site or is it my computer. Can someone from the team please advise me how to fix it       :-*

  • Hello maps - its avatars but we know what you mean. I don't think it is just you and I'm pretty sure it is not just me and you !
It'll be a system glitch, setting or conflict somewhere along the line and I'm sure it'll get sorted by the wise ones in time.

  • Yep, having this problem too!! OK when I upload it and browse on that session, but when I shut the window down and return next day, mine's gone, and I haven't seen anyone else lately, come to think of it.

  • Its not just avatars which are missing. Photographic  attachments posted on the message board are missing too. It's been happening for a few weeks. I think it's an intermittent fault.

  • You are welcome maps - it was a word I hadn't previously heard of until I found it on this site  :)

Falstaff, since you may be over there can you reboot the server for us please ? Or a quick 'format' of the main hard drive might do it ...

Not much news coming onto the site just recently either ?

  • Well, if it were my website Grockle, the first thing I would do is check the dip stick. A little bit more oil usually does the trick for me.

I guess that Dolly is very busy at the moment but no doubt she will catch up with the latest news shortly.  In the interim, I will do a fact finding tour of the local bars and see what is happening on the news front. Time permitting, I will post something here later.

  • Thanks Falstaff, I never thought of the oil level so you are probably right.

Good luck with your self imposed task of visiting all of the local hostelries in your quest for news, have a San Miguel on me if you come back with any interesting factoids.

You may be gone for some time so Mrs Falstaff needn't worry unnecessarily but you will need extra pocket money.

Also if you find any avatars in your travels we know where they came from.

  • Grockle, I had to rush back from the Bamboo Bar when I heard about the cement factory. See the details on my other post.

  • Perhaps you spent just a little too much time and money in the Bamboo?

But your photographic attachment was viewable so it is just the case of the missing avatars now then for you to work on?

Take the rest of the day off.

As for the news, I will bring you the news very soon as to why there is not much news at the moment.

  • The reason for missing avatars is still a mystery.  Mine and a few others keep disappearing, others are ok.  The PM blames VISTA!

We have found the time to explain why there hasn't been much news recently, check it out on our news http://losgigantes.com/news/
