Masca Walk

  • I would very much like to do the Masca walk but believe it is quite a long, strenuous walk back and that it is possible to arrange a pick up by boat from the beach at Masca, returning to Los Gigantes. Does anyone have any idea how to arrange this and how do you get to Masca without having to leave your car there?

  • There is a public allthough limited bus service, organised excursions, or you can arrange a private excursion with the local taxi drivers http://losgigantestaxis.com/excursiondetails.htm  and one of the whale and dolphin boats located in the harbour http://www.losgigantes.com/nashira.htm

The websites quoted are advertsiers on this site but there are other options, please use private messaging system to advise contact details thanks

  • I strongly recommend you go on an escorted walk from Masca.  That way you are shown the safest route, transport to Masca is arranged and the boat is booked for you.  It can be a dangerous walk for the inexperienced, as has been demonstrated by the number of accidents (some fatal) over the years.  I suggest you look for a leaflet on Tenerife walks at the LG bus stop (and in many other places around town) or ask at the travel shop adjacent to the bus stop.  There is an organised Masca walk every Thursday.  Even though I am quite an experienced walker, I would not consider attempting this walk on my own and  have been three times with this group and thoroughly enjoyed it.
