  • The twin screw cabin cruiser that sank alongside the wall in storms approx.10 years ago has now been salvaged. At the moment it is on the wall astern of the Flipper Uno.
    Needs anti-fouling!!

  • Lol! I'll bet... manys the time I've looked down at that and thought what a waste. There was another one salvaged a couple of years back that was in surprisingly good condition apart from the rotten woodwork. I think I was in Gran Canaria when that storm hit, and remember seeing pictures of the huge waves coming over the harbour wall. That was before they dumped all the concrete blocks around it wasnt it? I used to fish off the corner by the flashing light back then. Is this global warmng? I hope not.. :-\\

  • It was called the Aloha I think, and it has been moved to make way for the improvements to the Marina pontoons.

  • The boat is th Aloha.  they tried to raise it years ago but due to the weather and difficulty, gave it up and left it there. its obviousy in the Marina's interest now to get rid of it

  • Just out of interest, does anyone know if the sunken boats still incur mooring charges? If so presumably any prospective buyer fo the salvage aquires these as per cars and property? Could make for quite an expensive purchase.
