  • Many of you have been asking for the dates of next years carnival so you can book your flights.

Councillor Stephen Gerald has informed the losgigantes.com office that the unofficial dates are 14th - 18th February. The theme is Seville.

(The Carnival Committee will release these dates officially sometime soon)

  • Yes.  The dates are official 14th - 18th Feb.  We are trying to get a programme from the Ayuntamiento to translate and post on this board, it is not available yet.  As it is Spanish Christmas this weekend we will achieve nothing at the moment.  Keep watching our new "What's on Locally - Programme of Events" message board, it will be posted there as soon as it is available.

  • You have all been shouting for weeks for the carnival programme and the Imprenta kindly translated it, which saved us a huge amount work.  This is quite a task as some of the words are impossible to translate, there isn?t an equivalent word in English.  The Carnival Committee are certainly not organised and we will be lucky to see a printed Spanish carnival programme before carnival starts let alone one in English.

Wags I will try to get time to modify the programme, but it won?t be in the next couple of days - any volunteers?

  • I think we were all impressed last year when the Los Gigantes dot com team produced those excellent short videos of the forest fires and  put them on youtube for the whole world to see. Is there any possibility that you (or someone else) could do the same for the Los Gigantes Carnival for those of us who can?t be there?

    It looks so very impressive.

  • You should all have noticed on home page ?VIDEO coming soon?.  I?m working on lots of short videos of the area, including Carnival past and present.  Our aim is to produce much better picture and audio quality than Youtube.

We?ve had to re film the marina now that it has all new pontoons, they really are smart. The new footage is now in edit, but I keep having to take time out to make sure you are all behaving on this forum and to finish my carnival costume!

  • During previous carnivals there have been photographs of the candidates who are being judged as Carnival Queen and Princess  inadvance of the judging.  Sadly this year this does not seem to have happened, unless I am having a very senior moment and  looking at the wrong section of the LG web page.
