  • Been off the board for a while, got back beginning of the mouth to find a bug on the computer, So I've been catching up on the post i have missed. And i have to say one topic stands out. mentioned by a few people. and that's dog mess on the pavements and foot paths. Why cant SOME owners not all. be bothered to pick up what they four legged friends leave behind. I remember seeing Albert take his girls each morning he always picked up unfortunately it cannot be said for the couple doing it now. nor a lot of other people from crap [crab] island and other parts of LG and PS

give them big fines that may stop it

    anybody else agree with me?

  • Yes I do agree - I think it's disgusting - we get fined in the UK if we are caught not picking up the poop - I'm sure it's the same in Tenerife, it's just catching people in the act. If I see someone not picking up I tell them - most people will then pick up, you get the odd one saying they have no poop bags but I make sure I carry spares to give them - then they have no excuse. They probably curse me under their breath but I don't care - if you have animals you clean up after them - simple as that.

  • I totally agree with both of you. the road to the beach is one of the worst in the village. and so are parts of the square, you cannot blame it all on strays I've seen some of the dolly bird's caked in make up and jewelery with there toy dogs doing it. At time of posting only two replies and sixty odd reads maybe there are owners out there who are feeling guilty

you must have touched a nerve ;) >:(

  • I was most disturbed to see the item written by the person Wags on the above subject particularly in reference to my late partner and his girls (and it shows how little the person knew him to refer to him as Albert).  Since Berts demise his family and mine are the "people" walking his girls and to my knowledge any accidents that one of them usually could have is promptly cleared up as was always the way with Bert.  We would be horrified if a "parcel" had been left and not dealt with.  So Wags whoever you are stop posting deflamitory statements just because you are here for a few weeks of the year when the "girls" are proud to have been here for more than ten years and are exemplory examples of dogs inevery way and a great credit to Bert for this.

For anyone reading this you may be interested to know that last week we erected a seat in the gardens beside the sports centre where Bert used to walk the girls every day and it is there for all to use and rest their laurels whilst dog walking.  We are extremely responsible dog people and have been in the last 25 years we have lived here.  Wags stop talking through your a...!  Its people like you that really p... me off!

  • I have often thought it unfair that members of the message board who hide behind their fictitious names should be allowed to make derogatory comments about real people - people who are either named or can be easily identified, particularly if they are vulnerable.

Next time you decide to criticise someone WAGS, have the decency to identify yourself and if their conduct offends you so much, follow tlg's good example and find the courage to confront the offender on the spot.

  • There you go again Falsey "on your high horse" What is the problem?

Dogs have to S**t and it should be the responsibilty of the owner to clear it using POOPERSCOOPERS if they dont FINE THEM OR collect it all up and deposit at the offenders doors. Maybe then they will understand that not all people like those "Flea infested four legged barking machines"

  • We came back a week ago and I noticed such a lot of the horrible stuff around.  I can't remember the number of times I said "watch out" to my husband.  It really does need to be addressed.  Santiago is the worst place.  I wont go up there to eat because it puts me off my food!

  • Iquote d forgotten this is a hobby horse of yours Seb (or am I confusing you with someone else).

I agree with everything you have said. However, a person is innocent until proven guilty. The person who has been ldblquote accuseddblquote  has protested her innocence and I believe her. The ldblquote evidencedblquote  against her is an anonymous post on an internet website from an individual who may or may not be of good character. This ldblquote evidencedblquote  would not stand up.

This is why I have an issue with people who donquote t identify themselves and who post derogatory and defamatory remarks about real people.

  • Well Dolly I am very, very disappointed in you as an "impartial" website administrator. Maps clearly needs help and you have decided to provide it.

First of all you yield to pressure and delete an inoffensive  post of mine and then you unprofessionally amend Mapsquote   grossly inadequate response to my last post. I thought Gigi trained you well but I was so wrong.

No doubt you will delete this post too.

It looks like I will be the one  one taking the noon stage.
