Is the fountain broken?

  • Just arrived back in LG and no water in the Fisherwoman Fountain.  It was the same when we left in April.  Is it broken, or has someone pinched the water?

  • BL . All i am saying is. I think there are  more  important  things to worry about, than a  stupid  fountain, only two week ago  we had 63 black refuges washed up on our shores here in los gigantes, so when  you  think of that, the fountain means  nothing, i was in the square on Saturday for the animal day, did you see that dog there, it looked as if it was about to die on the spot, oh but Juan just cares about the fountain because it affects the price of his property, he admitted he only has  arrived, and already looking for faults, why bother coming  here in the first place. When we come back we always look for the news things and the positive things, that's why we love los gigantes.
    I rest my case ;D ;D

  • I am with freddy all the way on this one.

Juan has been a thorn in my side over many issues. He should concerntrate his efforts on real issues.

The fountain has been working most of the summer, most of the time it does, sometimes it doesn't.

There have been no fatalities outside of the Lemon Tree Apartments since his departure because people are able to read the CENTRO sign which points downhill etc., etc.

Juan is back in town look out!

  • After the dingo dogs escapade has nobody chilled out lets answer peoples questions in a polite and serious manner, the reason that the water fountain has no water in is about 4 weeks ago 63 illegal Canadian geese landed in the fountain, and after a nightmare journey when apparently 17 got split up from the rest of the pack and landed in Maria Gonzalez artificial  Japanese coy carp pond in Lanzarote, the rest of them managed to enter the fountain at daybreak on Wed 17th September. the alarm was raised by the owner of the Camber bar as he was opening up, 2 flew straight in to his window and i must agree with him they do taste like chicken.
A major operation was put in place and there are unconfirmed reports that Bill Oddie was staying in El Marques at the time and was involved in the operation, all the geese were gathered up  and taken to a secure unit next to the distribution warehouse for the slow boat restaraunt chain i have enquired on the welfare of the geese and the authorities have ensured me that they were carefully packaged and left the island 16 days ago but after a little detective work i found out they were on a XL flight to luton and did not leave the island and to make matters worse my mate had the aromatic duck at slow boat 3 last Saturday and when he ripped it open there was a receipt from transito under villigia park inside which the goose had obviously eat whilst in the fountain.
So as a precautionary measure the fountain will be on at sporadic intervals during the day to ensure we do not have this problem again but if you look closely under the fisherwomans left armpit there is some kind of early warning device to pick up unwanted visitors, i hope this has been of some help and we can put an end to this topic before everybody falls out again.

Just for your information, if you care to look under "Questions for the Councillor" in the last section of this forum, you will see that Steve Gerard kindly responded to my request for action on the signs at Lemon Tree.  He and his colleague agreed there was a problem, put it right and there have been no more accidents, so far.  What was so unreasonable about my actions to achieve this and possibly save some unfortunate tourist from being rear-ended by a Titsa bus?

As for the other extraordinary comments from you and Freddy, I refuse to lower myself to that level by responding.

  • June, not sure who you are, or what your agenda is, but I have never been nasty to anyone unless they have posted absolutely unfounded comments about a charitable issue.
