  • From what I can gather from Tui website, the hotel is closing for major refurbishment in May for 3 months ( I think ). It is going to be rebranded Adults only instead of thomson gold. The artists impression look amazing but time will tell , this isn't before time.

  • Heard from manager in November that it will be targeting young people after the refurbishment which does not make much sense

  • The Los Gigantes hotel has been a "Couples" since November last year.  I can understand why.  Thomson Gold does have a reputation for being more in line for the more senior citizens, which is no problem at all but hotels do need a variety of guests.

We are in our mid fourties and we visted the hotel last Xmas and this Xmas as well and there were certainly more younger couples this time which was better in our opinion, although the older ones definitely know how to enjoy themselves.

It has also got to be better for the village - younger guests will surely frequent the bars rather than staying in the hotel of an evening.

We have been visiting Los Gigantes for the last 15 years or so, but only stayed at the hotel since last year and it is very pleasant, so hopefully the refurbishment will only enhance the experience in the future.

We'll keep coming back anyway, either to the hotel or self catering.  It is home from home for us.

Oh - and Happy New Year to you all
