  • Hello - we have never stayed at the harbour club but have walked by it several thousand times! The entrance and pool area look lovely and we eat there last year and had a great meal. There always seems to be lots of entertainment going on too.
There are many lovely restaurants in the area but obviously it always comes down to personal choice. We always visit Little Italy, Mistinguett, El Pescador, Harbour Lites and the Harbour Club. During the day time we go to the Oasis pool where they have a good lunch time menu and a small tapas bar looking over the sea.
As far as bars go, again there are quite a few and range from very relaxed and quiet (Luis bar in the square) to bars like the Highland Paddy and The Green Corner which tend to be a bit more lively.
Los Gigantes is a lovely place to visit and as it's quite small you will be able to see most places within your first day or two. I suggest you just go to places you like the look of as what is one person's idea of heaven is another's hell!!!!
Hope you have a great holiday!

PS Not sure where to suggest for your teenager. When i used to visit as a teen we used to go to the piano bar and Clowns but they are sadly no more!! These days the Green Corner and Paddy's will probably be the most fun for him.

Does your teenager like water sports?  He is old enough to enrol on a scuba diving course.  Get in touch with Nev at the Los Gigantes Diving Centre situated on the marina. Tel 0034 922 860431 or  www.divingtenerife.co.uk (his ad is on the home page).
The 4 endash  5 days course of class work, pool sessions and the 4 open water dives will keep him well occupied.  The centre is fully registered as  both a PADI 5 star Centre and a BSAC premier school.  Nev and his instructors have an unbroken safety record. Most kids of this age take to it like a duck to water.

  • Hi Pisty

We are regulars at the Harbour Club as we have timeshare there and have just this Friday returned from yet another great two weeks there.

The restaurant that was there last year is no longer and they are currently working on it to get it open in a couple of weeks.  It looks fantastic and will be a steak house when open.  We were disappointed that it had not opened as we were curious having heard that the management of the Wine Bar were taking it over.  We ate at the Wine Bar (adjacent to the Sports Bar) several times and if you like good home cooking, you will love it there - really good steak dishes and nice REAL vegetables.

I'm not sure about your teenage son as it's a while since we had to take our teenage daughter with us but I am sure you will find lots to do.

The tappas is good at the Harbour Club and you can just sit on the terrace and soak in the lovely view etc.  They also do omelettes and I had lots of their tuna salads as they are HUGE and very fresh.

As the previous post said everybodies taste is different but I am sure you will find something to suit your tastes.

I hope you have a fantastic time as we did.  The weather was the hottest we have ever had in February and we didn't want to come home.  :'(

  • IMPORTANT

Make sure you are in Phrase 1 and not Phrase 2 as Phrase 2 is up the hill a bit and not actually "on site".
