  • Sorry to raise this subject again but what is the current position on hand luggage.

Flying out to Tenerife from Bristol on Air Malta and wondered what I can and can't take in flight bag.  Still reading conflicting stories.

    Thanks

  • Hand baggage size returned to previous limit.

Liquids and gels allowed now in hand baggage.  Maximum capacity is 100ml for each container.  Must be contained in clear plastic bag, maximum size 1 litre.  May be carried in hand luggage but removed for inspection at security.

Note that part filled containers of capacity greater than 100ml WILL BE CONFISCATED AT SECURITY (we know someone this happened to).

Here's a link to the official BAA website with all the details...

  • Thanks for your responses.

I take it this means I can take sandwiches and bits of food with me on the plane then?

  • At the moment you can, but there are some over enthusiastic officials about. WWW.BAA.COM is the best site to check details as it does change frequently, but link to current list is here.

  • the answers you are gettiing are just what people think is correct. To avoid any disappointment for an accurate up to date answer you need to get in touch with the information desk at the airport you are travelling from.  It is that airports security that you will be passing through.
