Green Corner New Years Eve

  • Is it just me, or does the prospect of several hundread people partying on the terrace of The Green Corner send a chill down my spine ?

Considering the floor beneath is being held up by hundreads of temporary supports, surely all the extra weight of these people is a receipe of a disaster waiting to happen !

If you look over the wall, where the steps used to be, next to Richardsons, you will see what I mean. There must be some sort of health and safety issue here, as a couple of months ago the builders who were due to do the repairs, were on the verge of closing the whole area down, for safety reasons, until the repairs were done !!!!!

  • Larsson..... are you an idiot ? Me a bah Humbug. I am being serious here. Does the thought of people lying in the celler under the Green Corner after the floor has collapsed make you laugh, cause it certainly doesn't me. I just hope the saying "I TOLD YOU SO" doesn't have to be used sometime soon !!!!

  • In reply to the worries about the Green Corner terrace,as the manager of said bar I would like to take a moment to reply to the concerns. The reparation work was delayed initially due to lack of payment by various owners within the Concanasa complex, however work commenced again 2 weeks ago and the architect is satisfied with its progress. There is now no threat of the complex being closed down as it is no longer deemed unsafe according to the architect.I would therefore like to call a halt to further speculation and wish everyone a merry xmas and a happy New Year wherever you choose to spend it.

  • Late evidence.... Architect assures us that the building complex is now safe.

I'll consider that evidence, but still unsure as to why when you look over the wall next to Richardsons, you can see loads of yellow metal supports helping to keep the roof up !

Isn't an Architect simular to a Structual Engineer ?

Wasn't it an Architect that said that the Twin Towers could withstand an Aircraft crashing into them ?
Wasn't it a Structual Engineer that said the Titanic was Unsinkable ?
Wasn't it an Architect that said Wembley Stadium would be completely re-built by March 2006 ?
Wasn't it a Structual Engineer (whilst on holiday in Los Gigantes) that said Joanne Love could sing ?

    Case Adjourned  !!!!

  • I don'b4t know who exactly made you judge and jury of los gigantes.com however
your referrals to the twin towers and the titanic are in bad taste as many lives were lost and I might add not through any fault of an architect! With regard to the metal supports, they were put in place while the 82 pillars were being reinforced which has now been done so they are not holding any roof up!I therefore ask if you have nothing constructive(pardon the pun) to say regarding the Green Corner that we have no more insinuations that we would put anybody at risk. The work, for your information, has been carried out under the whole of the 4 Concanasa complexes not just under the Green Corner and I would gladly give you a guided tour.Merry Xmas.

  • I guess you will be spending new years eve else where then.
What I don't get is why you are insulting people?  I didn't realise that the site was made for people to have a pop at each other, I thought it was a site of information to help people with any questions they may have regarding Los Gigantes and the local areas.

On another note, I hope all of you had a Merry Christmas and roll on New Years eve...

  • Its called humor, obviously something you don't get much of !
I know Paul and he just laughs off  jokes about his size.
The only person that seems to have a problem with the comment is you.
Perhaps you should change your name from Babe to Stoneface !!!  >:(

  • Humour hey, asuming that I don't get any mmmm..  I am friends with Paul as I have lived here for over 7 years, I was defending him anyway a mate should.  I am sure that if someone was to say something about one of your mates on a subject that could be dis hearting you would try your best to put a stop to it.
If you say this was just playful banter then I was wrong to interfer, but that can be hard when someone writes about people you know.

  • Oh come on SADBASTIAN, everyone knows that Millwall don't have supporters, the area is full of painters and decorators, hence the need to trash the place twice a year to create work for themselves and to give the Police some riot control practice !  :o

And me a Plonker, I don't see my comments splashed all over every subject on the noticeboard, unlike some other plonker last month !  8)

As for me, I will be visiting most bars in the village on New Years Eve, you'll recognise me in the Green Corner, i'll be the one wearing the Parachute, carrying a crate for Paul !  ;D :P ;)

  • I am a true fan, violence is not called for in what should be a family sport.  Go down that avenue and you'll find yourself before me or one of my collegues.  :'(

As for Leeds United, the Jury is out considering a charge of Relegation and I fear the verdict will be guilty. although I predict a sentence of only 1 year, then parole back into the Championship, a new manager, new players and an investor !  ::)

As for the Premiership, neck and neck, but Chelsea have too many one man stars trying to show off, so are slipping up and I forsee Manchester pipping them in the final weeks......  ;D

  • Ah the Judge John Deed you are indeed a closet "RED" Need we say any more on your shamefull use on wordplay, accussing me of the curse suffered by our fonder sex..and if you were around last month then the banter was aimed at "Closet Grockles" and Poor Service" which by the way is third in the all time record responses....
So Judge DREAD ..... Enjoy new year and drink to much and go back into the anals of the law and remember its only 4 points!!!
Another point. Why promote oneself Paul????

  • With reference to the so called judges viewpoint and humour, humour is one thing and you are right Paul does laugh at jokes about his height but only with friends, however humour did not come into your comments regarding the Green Corner, they were malicious and petty. However on a lighter note I look forward to being introduced to the 'a8judge'a8 as the problem with this web site is that not many people have the 'a8cojones'a8 to log in under their true name.Happy New Year to you all especially babe, blue, and the breed fan as I know who they are.
