Furniture shopping in Tenerife

  • We've recently purchased an apartment in Los Gigantes and wish to buy some new furniture - specifically a bed and a sofa bed. We will also need some new bed linen. Where would anyone recommend please.

  • Welcome, hope you have many good times. We did hear the church bells ringing - now we know why!

  • Go to Las Chafiras (like a big trading estate by the airport - you can't miss it) loads upon loads of furniture shops, they also sell bedding & curtains & all manner of soft furnishings and will deliver. Particularly the One Stop Shop beside Iceland. You also have Textile Sur in San Juan for all bedding/linen. To be honest if I need bedding I buy mine in he UK when I'm home as it's obviously cheaper. Hope this helps

  • Yes, the Textile Sur in San Juan is good for bedding, last month we enquired about a double bed as they stock these in their basement. The cost was about 500 - 600 can't remember exactly. But I do recall in the estimate 6 No. legs - yes legs at 6 euros each. I explained I was a light sleeper and needed only 2 or 3.
The leg business, and I am not pulling yours, put me off. So we drove in to Adeje to a furniture store we have been to before called 'Boom' . But it had shut recently because it had gone 'Bust'. Thought Gord Brown ended 'Boom and Bust'. Any way decided to visit 'Hyper Trebol' supermarket on other side of motorway (town).  And here we found a bed shop on ground floor inside. For a reasonable double bed frame with 6 legs included + reasonable memory foam mattress. I think we paid no more than 400 - 450. And they delivered that evening. Think our son slept on it that very night.

  • there are also some really good second hand shops, one in Alcala near the medical centre and one in the village just past Tenerife Pearl.Be aware that Spanish and British sizes vary slightly for bedding, so buy either and stick to it. One Stop Property shop stock British sizes and also do British pillows and pillow cases at a reasonable price. They also have duvets and duvet covers very cheap.Alcampo is good for Spanish size bedding and very good prices.

  • Why all this faffing about?? The best place locally on Tenerife is Angelo's in Playa del la Arena.  Or, for bedding, M&S by post from UK!  What's the problem?

You can no longer get M&S either the UK site or the one in Spain to deliver to Tenerife. They will only deliver to mainland Spain as of now!
