  • Often walk past the fish spa which is more often than not empty - many fish spa's in the UK have now closed as the fad has appeared to have wained.

However, when Mrs Kid was last down by the harbour I treated her to a session and she told me this story when she emerged......................

She had been sitting quietly whilst the fish had a feed - two young girls came in and also had a session - the 3 of them were sitting next to each other chatting away passing the time, suddenly there was a beeping sound and Mrs Kid looked around somewhat alarmed, at that moment one of the young girls raised her forearm out of the water and gave it a press - the beeping immediately stopped.  "So sorry" she says, "that was just my pager i've had it microchipped into my forearm".  Mrs Kid was a little taken aback but all 3 then continued chatting.

After a short period of time, a phone rang, " Oh !! - excuse me I'll just answer this" - the other younger girl says and raises the palm of her hand to her ear !! after a few moments the call ends and the girl says "Really sorry about that, but i've just had my mobile phone surgically implanted into my hand"

By this time Mrs Kid was a bit miffed, not wanting to appear outdone - she immediately got out of the spa and went to the toilet - when she returned to the spa she had a long length of toilet paper sticking out from her rear !!  - Oh look she exclaimed -"I'm receiving a fax"

Sorry folks but I know that post could/should have gone under the heading of "Lets have a laugh" - x
I wanted to be the Cincinnati Kid - but couldn't spell it

  • Thanks for the replies.

Like you said the fad has passed in the UK so haven't had one for a while so have got something to look forward to now when we arrive soon.  Hope its not too expensive as no-one is using it.

    Love the reply from losgiganteskid!

  • If it's not there anymore there is a new one just under Jo's Bistro (formally Lazy Dayz), at the beginning of Playa Arena, (next to Blarney Stone or thereabouts)

  • The fish spa on the marina is still open.  7 days a week from 10am until 7pm. It is not heaving with people but there are many people using it.
