Exchange Rate

  • Hi there,
I wonder if someone would be kind enough to note the exchange rate at the place by the Bus stop/ Tipsy Terrace.
The rates have dropped tremendously in the UK and I wondered whether to change money solely in  Los G. I`m coming out in two weeks.
    Thanks in anticipation

  • as Edward Bear has said on another thread, the rate for the to at the exchange shop yesterday was 1.12 for cash

On any given day at any given time you will always get a better rate for your cash here than you would in the UK as a general rule the rate for exchanging cash at the office near Typsy Terrace/Bus Stop is generally about two and a half points below the commercial rate quoted on currency exchange websites like moneycorp.com, for example the commercial rate yesterday was 1.149.

  • I prefer careful alfies mum!!!
We always bring just enough in euros to last for essentials and the taxi down, then use Jesus as he nearly always gives a better rate than in the UK.

  • Sounds like my sort of plan Mary, me being 'careful'. Where abouts is Tipsy Terrace and are his rates negotiable.

  • Just down from the bus stop and up from the Harbour Club. I believe that the rates are not negotiable but good.

It is good to see that Mary goes to Jesus for a good rate deal! :-)

  • Why don't you just get a Halifax Clarity Card, which doesn't charge you when using it?
