  • We will check again and continue to do so on a regular basis but we too found that LGW 'summer' schedule is not in the public domain just yet.
We are really restricted as to choice now and can't see that changing or improving in the immediate future.
Still waiting for April flight prices !

  • Booked 3 seats from manchester to tfs for next august!  200 quid cheaper than nearest quote so really chuffed.  I realise there's a scrum for seats and there will be a bit of stress involved but when travelling with a 4 yr old and an 18 month old baby when is it ever going to be calm?!

  • I know what you mean swede since we have travelled to TFS with very young children but what does make it calm is being able to pre-book seat numbers in advance and knowing that you will be able to sit together as a family without all the hurly burly of the pre-boarding crush of an easyJet flight. I fully agree that the actual cost of the ticket is the major factor but the easyJet free for all is a bit of a pain. Good luck to you with the children in your arms ! Why can't flying abroad just be a little more civilised ? It is bad enough with the limited seat pitch and having to pay for everything on top of the headline price these days but we still come back. The first and last days of the holiday are not a lot of fun.

  • Why not pay for Speedy Boarding whereby you should be given priority boarding?

  • Good news Swede! If you are travelling with with an under-2 you are first in line after the Speedy Boarders, so I wouldn't pay the extra. The only hassle for you is the kids!! Good Luck

Given the poor choice and high cost of airline food - I would say that was a plus !!

  • We have already paid for speedy boarding but i should imagine a lot of families have too. I know a few ex colleagues who are ground staff and checking in staff and they are going to do their best to see that we will be some of the first passengers on the aircraft  ;)

  • You are right, they will be out soon. I expect a few board members may be sitting up at one minute past midnight on December 1st to see if we can (a) get flights and (b) save a few quid !
I can't actually see any flights yet available to TFS from Luton or Stansted either yet. Only another fortnight to wait.

  • Hi All,

Easyjet are far and away the cheapest - added Speedy Boarding for ?45 and still saved ?200 on the next cheapest  for next year school holidays- they are still using the ex British Airways planes so plenty of legroom (when you're 6ft 2  it makes a difference!) ....we used them last year and expected a nightmare...Speedy Boarding wasn't needed but gave the wife piece of mind as we have 1 child and a baby....agree with the main posts that uncivilised behaviour really adds unecessary stress ......yes, the food is crap but we always buy something beforehand and take on board....i'm sure we can all live with 4 hours without gourmet food....

but would rather deal with all this and have more money in the pocket to spend over there eating out....1.13 for a pound is bad news though!!!!......

  • Well, December 1st has arrived and still no sign of easyjet flight availability out of LGW for April.
Running out of options now so might have to get the bicycles out of the garage and start heading down after Xmas ?

Come on easyjet, show us your prices !!!

  • Hola amibovvered

....worked....I think is the correct tense now. Jenson's looking for a driving job too.

Flight prices just a touch dearer than I'd hoped for, but it was a vain and unachievable hope.
