diving in los gigs

  • Hi, I have just completed my open water diving.  great fun, would recommend it to everyone. took my coarse with a great guy, nigel carr from interskil. he is a qualifed instructor, and believe me, he has the patience of a saint! he wont rush you into doing anything unless you feel comfortable, and everything is done in such a calm and relaxed way.  i was really worried about going under the waves, but you can't keep me out of the water now.  if any of you out there want to take up a new hobbie, give nigel a ring and do a try dive. you might surprise yourselves and really enjoy it. i did!  ;)

  • Here in the UK we are all struggling to keep our heads ABOVE water!
Besides..I have seen all the Jaws films and look what happened to Steve Irwin  :(
I would love to be able to dive, it does look really interesting, but basically I am a coward.  :-[

Just wish had more time to explore my new hobby.. This bloomin work malarcky keeps getting in the way!!!! :) Any tips on great dive venues? Starting to feel a bit more adventerous... but no sharks please. :o Yet.

  • yes i agree, nigel's love of diving is contagious.  i too want to go on to higher levels, but like you i find that there are not enough hours in the day what with work and the likes.  mind you when xmas is over things should be quieter at work and i'll have more time.  as for dive sites, talk to nigel, he'll see you right.   i would love to dive at "stingray village" just of the cliffs, and feed the rays, i've been told that it is a great dive, but again that will have to wait until after xmas.  any way good luck with the advance course.  ;D ;D ::)

  • HI, YES I AGREE WITH BLUEBIRD, WHAT A REALLY NICE GUY. I TOOK MY REFRESHER COURSE WITH NIGEL, AND I FOUND HIM AN EXCELLENT INSTRUCTOR. IT HAD BEEN A FEW YEARS SINCE I HAD BEEN DIVING, AND AFTER SPEAKING WITH NIGEL I WAS RARING TO GO AGAIN. I HAVE BEEN DIVING IN A LOT OF COUNTRIES, AND I THINK HE IS ONE OF THE BEST. IF YOU WANT TO HAVE A GO BUT ARE WORRIED, GIVE NIGEL A TRY, HE WILL PUT YOU AT EASE. 8)

  • OOOH STINGRAYS!! Def fancy that!! Did some massage training in Hawaii few years ago and heard some people say how fantastic a night dive with giant stingrays was..something like swimming with ufo's! swore to myself then that this would be on my lifetime to-do's list...perhaps now not so far off being ticked?!!!

  • Does anyone know how to find Nigel?
I would really like to give diving a try, not sure about swimming with stingrays though, not since Steves accident in Australia, I'm a bit of a coward in the water, so would need to be re-assured :'( :'( :'(

  • went out diving with nigel again this week.  went to marazul, 3 of us went. had a brilliant time, another nice place to dive. always plenty of wildlife to see when we go, and nigels never too busy to give you lots of advice on your diving skills and also to sit and  chat with you after the dive.........  so come on all you out there, give it a try!

  • I think you had better be careful there BB you dont want to upset the Mancs & Scousers.
Also agree if we were supposed to dive we would have been born with aqualungs. Prefer breathing thru my ears.

No offfence jondon but i've been diving now for quite a few years so the come on you lot out there is a bit patronising.
everyone knows it's out there it's up to them to choose whether they want to or not....ok with you Jacque....
