  • The City council trusts that the street the Siren opens within a month Tuesday, 02 of October of 2007 The mayor assures that the works for the reconstruction advance to good rate and took place yesterday the visit of the engineer of contracts it. The mayor of Santiago of the Teide, the nationalist Juan Dami'e1n Gorr'edn Branches, indicated that yesterday the visit to works of reconstruction of the retaining wall of the street took place the Siren on the part of the engineer of the company awardee of the works, VVO. The regidor commented that the performance is developed to good rate and, if serious problems do not arise, is predicted that the urban route returns to be open to the traffic rolled within a month. This way, the local corporation glimpses one more an exit next to one of the subjects more serious than it has undergone the municipality in which it goes of year. In fact, numerous neighbors, industralists and tourists of the coastal zone have been themselves affected by the cut of the mentioned street in the proximities of the seat of Port of Santiago, that cut the direct communication between the mentioned area and the nuclei of the Watch, the Depth and the Giants, for example. The works of reconstruction of the infrastructure have begun from the superior part of the street, according to indicate sources of the municipal administration. Such intervention requires a budget of 500,000 euros, that have been detra'eddos of the Plan of Tourist Infrastructure shock of the Government of the Canary Islands

  • Are taxis etc taking the road route again rather than going all around, my mum finds it difficult to walk and so we normally get a taxi down to the beach from El Marques but we were a bit reluctant to pay this 10 euros i'd been hearing about to get her down there.

  • Road is open. Two way traffic to all vehicles.  Bus route back to normal.  Footpaths not finished yet.  The corner has been widened so it should be less of a bottleneck.  To enlarge picture below click on picture link.
