LaCochinillo

Trundling through my local mediteranean supermarket in the UK, came across tomatoes from Cooperative Agricola Tamaimo. V nice to be reminded of Tenerife and I do support the local industries, but wondered at the viability of shipping to Crystal Palace from the Canaries.

No worse than from Costa Rico or any other far flung province of the globe I suppose, but the price I paid made me wonder ... ?1.50 for 6kg, cheaper than I can get in LG or surrounds!

  • Not being a believer in all this climate change business I think that la cochinillo was referring to the exhausts discharged from the planes or boats used to transport them to UK.

  • One solution would be for Tamaimo to have its own Tomatina (If you don't know what that is, try http://www.latomatina.es/)

That should give a boost to the area!

  • LaConchinillo what has hurling tomatoes at each other got to do with the flawed theory of climate change ?
